When Jaakko Ojamo - Eumer Founder - needed a partner for his growing tube fly business he didn't need to look far. His younger brother Olli grew up fishing with Jaakko and working at their father's brass factory. The first order of business for Olli was to learn some English so that he could educate the rest of the world about their tube flies. So, Olli went to Alaska with a fly box full of tube flies and a Finnish/English dictionary.
While he was there, he learned a few basic words and then he was off to Scotland to a fly tying seminar. This was very important for the fledgling company since it was their first big test within the established fly tying community. And although his English words were very limited, the response from the other tiers was easy to understand. They were overwhelmingly impressed with these new styles of brass tubes!
Many of you have met Olli personally during his travels throughout the world as he is promoting Eumer and visiting with fisherman. He's also been known to do a magic trick or two whenever there is a free moment. Next time you see him, be sure to ask him to show you his "10-Second Fly". You won't be disappointed!
