These European Tungsten Cones are not really all that soft but you can squeeze them in your hand. They are soft enough to slip over the eye of many hooks so they are handy to have if you want to creatively add weight to streamers/wets on the stream. They are a dull non reflective brown grey and work well as is. But they can also be coated with finger nail polish. Though not proven I was told that they will not break rod tips if you screw up a cast and ting your rod.
