This is the next step up in our 8/9 range of traditional spey rods. The extra foot in length helps you make longer casts and you'll find it also provides better penetration into the wind. It fishes optimally with long belly floating lines, but will handle short to mid-belly sink tips well. If you want to fish shorter bellied lines, increase your line rating by one size. This a versatile rod for most of the salmon species and large steelhead, especially on big the rivers of the Northwest and British Columbia.

It casts effortlessly single-hand, but it makes a wonderful light-duty two-hand spey rod. It gives you excellent distance and line control for mending and managing long leaders. If you're looking for a real challenge, try this little beauty for summer-run steelhead when the water is low and clear. It doubles nicely for steelhead and redsides, fishing with small nymphs and strike indicators on the Deschutes and is an excellent choice for those famous "half pounders" on the Rogue or Klamath rivers.

You can cast up to a 450-grain Skagit line plus floating or sinking tip with this rod. Most anglers will find it easy to cast single-handed. It's a really nice big water, big trout rod, but is an exceptional small river steelhead rod. It casts well in light wind and gives you excellent mending qualities. When the steelhead get spooky and you need to go to lighter, longer leaders, this is the rod you'll want in your hands. It's a good choice for coneheads and other heavily weighted flies. This 8-weight "switch" is best for fishing heavily weighted flies two-hand style; especially the ones made with bulky, water absorbing materials. Only the stronger single-hand casters are able to manage this rod for any length of time. It casts well in high wind, similar to what anglers encounter in Tierra Del Fuego. Whether you're fishing for big steelhead or Atlantic salmon, searun browns or silver salmon, this rod will surprise you. GLX makes it very powerful, but more importantly it makes it extremely light. You can fish all day with minimal fatigue and know that when the big bite happens you've got the right rod!

A surprisingly powerful 12'6" two-hand rod that handles smaller flies on lighter lines. Under our old line rating system this would be a 7/8, but since most of the heads anglers use for the Scandinavian style, are based on the physical line weight, we refer to them in grams for Europe and grains for North America. It's designed to fish smaller rivers where distance isn't the primary objective, but don't let that fool you. It will handle big fish and big water just fine. Searun browns, steelhead and smaller salmon in the 8-20-pound range are where this rod really shines.

A crisp casting 13-footer that, under our old rating system would be an 8/9, but since the shooting heads for the Scandinavian style of casting are rated by their actual weight, we rate them in grams for Europe and Grains for the North American market. It's designed to cast short heads Scandi-style, but is very capable of handling a wide variety of casting styles with the proper lines. It's a great all-purpose rod for salmon and steelhead, giving you a little more distance with larger flies, even in the wind.

It's a great rod for fishing winter steelhead, fall salmon or any of the great Nordic rivers for Atlantic salmon. As with all Stinger Series rods, this rod is rated in grams for Europe and grains for the North American market. Under our old system this would be rated as a 9/10. It's our best all around power fly rod for fishing the swift deep runs anadromous species call home.

This is the mega monster two-hand rod capable of handling long heads of up to 45' and those large, air-resistant tube flies used in the big rivers of Norway, Finland and Sweden. It's made to handle the biggest salmon on the planet! With no natural enemies like heavy wind or high water, this rod will get the job done where a lesser rod will make line management a lot of work. Excellent line control for big mends in the fast runs where the big fish hold make this our top choice for large rivers and their most demanding "part-time" residents.
