Echo2 Freshwater Rods
Echo2 Freshwater fly rods were designed by Tim Rajeff to be the ultimate tools for chasing trout. Each Freshwater Rod features the ultimate in componentry--friction free titanium coated SIC stripping guides, maple reel seats with nickel coated barrels and hoods, a beautiful wine colored blank finish, and high grade cork handle. Knowing that beauty is only skin deep, Tim Rajeff designed each rod with its own specific power and action in order to provide you with the best tool for the job. Other manufacturers utilize a single action across an entire range of rods, which is just downright silly. To further allow you to fine tune the actions of Echo2 rods, each rod comes with 2 tips; an "A" tip for accuracy and a "D" tip for distance.

That’s right, each Echo2 rod comes with 2 tips: a tip marked A, optimized for accuracy, and a tip marked D, designed for distance. The distance tip is the stiffer of the two. Use it to lift sinking lines to the surface and throw longer lines more easily. Use it if you have a more aggressive casting stroke. The accuracy tip is softer and allows the rod to load with less line for close-range presentations. It is the preferred tip for casters who want to “feel the rod load” sooner in the casting stroke and take full advantage of the Echo2’s overall power.

All Echo2 rods share a number of high-performance features, including:

  • Intermediate-modulus blanks for exceptional durability and strength-to-weight ratio
  • Titanium-coated stripper guide frames with extra-hard Illusion Plasma-coated inserts
  • Hard-Chrome snake guides

    ECHO2 7’8” #3 was designed for small to medium rivers and small ponds. At 7’8” the rod is short enough to fish up close or under obstacles but has enough length for longer casts.     The Echo2 9’6”/10’ #5 features two tips of different lengths, allowing the rod to switch between a 9’6” and 10’. What was going on in Tim Rajeff’s mind when he decided to create a rod with two different length tips? Tim wanted to give people looking for more distance and or people who are sitting close to the water more ways to skin a cat. On days where there is limited wind you can use the longer tip to take full advantage of the line lifting and distance that a 10wt rod delivers. When the wind gets nasty and waving 10wt rods in the wind is not your cup of tea (beer) switch tips and use the shorter one.
