Each 7'6" 5-wt, 2-pc. bamboo fly rod comes with two tips, offers the exact tapers as Wes Jordan’s original fly rods, and is adorned with red agate stripping guides, burnished nickel- silver fly reel seats, ferrules with gorgeous gunsmith scrollwork, and ferrule plugs. Each bamboo fly rod arrives in a latigo leather fly rod tube embossed with our 150th Anniversary logo.

So, we decided to offer a true masterpiece—a limited-edition run of only 30 Edward Vom Hofe 150th Anniversary fly reels, entirely handcrafted by preeminent fly reel artisan Joe Janciuras of Rochester, NY. Our fly reel remains wholly true to the original and the rarest of all Vom Hofe models: the “Perfection” No. 360 Size 1, with Ebonite and Nickel Silver. Each fly reel is a genuine continuation of the legendary Edward Vom Hofe fly reel of three generations ago—one of the greatest fly reels ever made in America.
We delved deep into the Vom Hofe vault to find the exact design, materials, and manufacturing techniques of the original fly reel and its patented Adjustable Automatic Tension drag system. Doing so allowed us to capture the original fly reel’s elegance and impeccable craftsmanship and its exquisite silver adjustable drag system, a dramatic distinction from ordinary modern “Vom Hofe-style’’ imitations that use modern, often inferior, parts. Made to order only, each fly reel is a true work of art crafted of nickel-silver, phosphorous bronze, aluminum alloy 7075, stainless steel 31 and 304L, and laboratory grade ebonite.
